Can You Say Perfect?

Today felt like a perfect day. It had a perfect beginning, a perfect middle and a perfect end. Now, I should mention that all of my “problems” have not mysteriously evaporated. My money, weight, career, self-worth, parenting concerns have not changed, but today there were so many moments that made me smile. I felt happy and blessed at least 93% of the time. I’m sure I had a few moments of less than bliss, but today it was just a few moments.

My day started with a visit to a company called Lice Lifters for a combing head check for my daughter. There was too much great information to share in this blog, but I promise I will write another Special Edition about our Lice Lifters visit. The part that made it perfect is that they didn’t find any nits in my daughter’s hair and I got some new products to continue our treatment and hopefully remain lice free.

The middle consisted of a trip to the movies to do a bit of research. I got a chance to see the movie Something Borrowed. I was doing research to see what movies were in development a while back and stumbled upon the information that this film was going to be made. I ran to my library picked up the book by Emily Griffin and read it looking for a part that I might someday get a chance to play. Alas there were no parts for a plus size African American woman, but when the movie came out I was excited to see how they adapted the novel onto the big screen. Now to have a chance to be in movie on the big screen again. That will be something!

My day ended with a surprise invite to see Tavis Smiley speak in Philadelphia tonight. I was thankful that I was able to shuffle around things so I could go. His words were inspiring and will be featured in another blog, another day. I came home, gave my sleeping baby 10 kisses as I promised and was greeted by my toothbrush already set up with a cup of water and a dab of toothpaste waiting just for me.
